and this simple query has revealed over 4,500 public conversations over internet and this conversation contains personal, sensitive, or even confidential information that includes –
- Mental health discussions
- Relationship problems
- Job applications and resumes
- Business strategies and client info
Why Did This Happened with ChatGPT Chats
OpenAI has a feature “Share Chat” and this feature allows the users to create a public URL for any conversation and share it with any one. But they don’t have any realization that making a link “discoverable” means it canbe crawl by search engines.
But the feature includes multiple confirmation steps, but not a foolproof many users go through it without any understanding the full privacy risks.

What data Exposed by Chat GPT
The data that has been showing in the Search results are
- Real names, emails, or phone numbers
- Work-related tasks or marketing copy
- Mental health stories or trauma
- Private opinions or political views

How to Check Your Chats Are Public
You can simple check by searching that in google if your chats are exposed then you will get the results

How to delete Chat GPT leaked chats
Search above the query in google and if you find any result then
- Open the link
- and delete it from your ChatGPT’s shared links dashboard
but deleting the shared link will not immediately removed form search engine it may take some time to remove
How to Safe Your ChatGPT Conversations in Future
- Never share your personal info in any of the AI conversation.
- Avoid using the Share feature of the app unless it is not necessary.
