Tom Holland Concussion on Spider-Man: Brand New Day Set – Filming Paused
Tom Holland suffers mild concussion on Spider-Man: Brand New Day set. Filming paused for safety. Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and MCU stars return
Big news for Marvel fans! Tom Holland, the beloved Spider-Man, suffered a mild concussion on the set of his upcoming superhero movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day this Friday, according to Variety. The incident was minor but still enough for the actor to take a short break from filming to recover. Good thing nobody else was hurt during the mishap.
Sony, which is producing the movie along with Marvel Studios, is already planning a meeting on Monday to figure out the next steps. Fans can rest easy knowing Holland is expected to return to the set in a few days after some rest and precaution.
Filming and Production
The new Spider-Man movie started filming in Glasgow earlier in August, and it’s slated for theatrical release on July 31 next year. This is Holland’s first time back in the Spidey suit since 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” He even shared a video recently from the set showing off the suit and his excitement on day one.
“It’s day one, my fourth ever day one on ‘Spider-Man.’ It’s funny, putting the suit on, it feels different this time, somehow. It’s also the first time we ever had fans on set day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them,” Holland said in the video. “We’ve got some familiar faces on set. I’m just going to do my best, hopefully get it right, no pressure.”
Returning and New Cast
Fans will be thrilled to see familiar faces like Zendaya and Jacob Batalon returning to the franchise. Additionally, some new actors are joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Liza Colon-Zayas from The Bear, Emmy winner Tramell Tillman from Severance, and Sadie Sink from Stranger Things. MCU veterans like Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Jon Bernthal (Punisher), and Michael Mando (Scorpion from Spider-Man: Homecoming) are also back.
What This Means for Fans
While fans might be a little worried about the pause in filming, Holland’s team is handling things carefully. Safety first! The mild concussion shouldn’t affect the overall production schedule, and we can expect more updates and behind-the-scenes sneak peeks in the coming weeks. MCU fans are in for a treat with both returning favorites and exciting newcomers.
So, if you’re a Spider-Man fan, don’t panic! Tom Holland is taking some time to recover but will be back swinging in no time. With the mix of returning stars and new faces, Spider-Man: Brand New Day promises to be an exciting chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Stay tuned for more updates and keep your Spidey senses ready!
